For 27 years, Lattanzi Ristorante has been a landmark, serving the theater district the cuisine of the ancient Romans. It’s a cuisine which has endured to this day in traditional restaurants that dot the winding vias of Trastevere, the ancient district of the Italian Capital.
In our romantic, relaxed setting, one can experience some of the most celebrated and sumptuous flavors from Rome and the whole of the Italian Peninsula. The Lattanzi family oversees every detail from preparation to service, ensuring that each meal is a memorable, unique dining experience – one you’ll want to repeat, time and again.
Inside diners discover a world of red brick, wooden beams, and spaces at once rustic and reminiscent of the old world, yet sophisticated and stylish. Each room within our restaurant, decorated to reflect the style of various Italian cities or regions, glows with its own unique charm. A sky-lit patio opens onto a garden… a street-level bar provides a place for convivial drinks with friends and family before a meal or a Broadway show… and on our second level, you may discover the beauty of a New York evening on the spacious tree-shaded Florentine terrace, redolent of Tuscany.
Opened July 31, 1984, Lattanzi has been a proponent of fine dining and what has come to be called “slow food”—the careful and meticulous preparation of every single component of a dish. As a result, “time and love,” as the matron of our family, Erminia Lattanzi used to say, becomes the main ingredient of every dish prepared in our kitchen.
